We as a band came to the conclusion .. many months ago, that Myspace morphed from a social place where fans and bands mingled... to in a very short period of time, a place where bands were trying to get the attention of other bands ... because all the fans went to facebook.

A bright light sparkled so (myspace) ... and now hardly a glimmer of its former self.

So IF YOU ARE A MUSICIAN.... you damn well better be writing some great music, and stay on top of all the new opportunities on the web. Myspace is dead and gasping for air.

When I read their new slogan, the only thing that comes to mind is "discover [music] and be discovered [if you're a musician/band]." But my interpretation is certainly colored by two or more years of thinking that's all MySpace was for anyway, once Facebook ate its lunch.

And unless they've got music recommendation tricks like Pandora and Last.fm, I'm not sure I see how I'd use MySpace to discover new music. Which leaves it as a place for bands to have a little corner of the internet for free.
